Brisbane Roar is pleased to announce the re-signing of attacker Shea Connors for the upcoming Liberty A-League Season.
Connors re-joins the Roar following a successful season at APIA Leichhardt FC in the NPL New South Wales division, where she leads the league with 11 goals to date.
This will be Connors’ third stint with the club, netting 8 goals and 2 assists in 15 appearances across two seasons in orange.
“I am so excited to be back,” Connors said. “Last season a lot of results were very close and didn’t go our way, but I feel there were a lot of positives to take away from the season.”
“With last year’s learnings under our belt, I think we’re going to push forward this season and look to make more of an impact in the league earlier on.”
“I’ve really enjoyed my time with APIA,” Connors said.
“It’s a great group of girls, from all different Liberty A-League clubs, and the NSW comp has many that play in the league as well, so it’s been great playing with them. And it makes the NSW league very competitive”.
Prior to last season’s Liberty A-League Women’s season, Connors netted a staggering 52 goals in the NPL Queensland competition.
Now after a successful season in the NPL NSW, the 26-year-old is looking to again make an impact in the Liberty A-League under Head Coach Garrath McPherson.
“It has been wonderful to see Shea working on her game in the NPL in New South Wales. She had a breakout season for the club last year and was an important part of a new squad rebuild.” McPherson said.
“She is a competitor who drives others to be the best they can be, and I really value her presence within the team.”
