To our dedicated Brisbane Roar FC members and fans, I hope this update finds you all in good spirits and eager for the season ahead.
I’m delighted to share with you some of our recent developments and news concerning our club, as a part of our period management updates.
Successful Pre-season
Both our A-Leagues Men’s and Women’s sides have shown very promising form and dedication during pre-season. Both sides have worked extremely hard and built a strong foundation moving into the commencement of the A Leagues season. A special mention to our A League Men’s side for advancing to the Final of the Australia Cup, in what was a great match and spectacle against Sydney FC.
A Leagues UNITE Round
In partnership with the NSW Government and Destination NSW (DNSW) the A-Leagues will play all Round 12 Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Liberty A-League Women matches in Sydney between Friday January 12 and Sunday January 14, 2024.
The significance of the ‘Ultimate Away’ Round means that starting this season, the hosting rights for the Grand Final will revert to the traditional system, with the highest ranked Semi Final winner playing host.
During ‘Unite Round’, a range of double header matches will be hosted at Allianz Stadium, CommBank Stadium and Leichhardt Oval, and grassroots tournaments for junior boys and girls will take place at venues across Sydney.
For the Isuzu UTE A-League Men, ‘Unite Round’ will be an additional round – making it a 27-game regular season and the existing Round 12 fixtures have been moved to new midweek dates.
For the Liberty A-League Women, ‘Unite Round’ will use the existing Round 12 fixtures, keeping the season as a 22-game regular season.
Ballymore Training Base
A significant milestone for our A League Men’s team was the announcement of a permanent training base at Ballymore for the coming season. This has been a key challenge for the club and a key priority for our new management to ensure our A League Men’s side commence this season with stability, certainty and within a professional environment.
We are currently working with QRU to invest in change room, medical, gym and storage facilities to be located at Ballymore adjacent to Field 2. This will be a fixed structure dedicated to Brisbane Roar to ensure our players and coaching staff have their own permanent ‘Home’ base.
We also wish to take this opportunity to thank Jason Gazdagh and Pristine Homes for their support in building and constructing our own “Pre-hab” facility at Ballymore next to Field 2. Jason and his wonderful team spent tireless days constructing the structure and the club is extremely grateful of this partnership.
Liberty Pass and A League Women’s
We are very proud of our A League Women’s side and their fantastic performance and win away to Melbourne Victory last weekend. It was fantastic to see Grace Kuilamu get on the score sheet, the youngest A League Women’s player to score for Brisbane Roar in the history of our club.
We are also very pleased to announce that we have 3400 Liberty Pass holders prior to our first A League Women’s home match this weekend. This places our fans as the second highest Liberty Pass holders across the whole league.
We are very excited about hosting our first home match for the season this coming Saturday, 21st October 2023 at Ballymore against Sydney FC. Kick-off at 3:00pm. Make sure to come down and support you’re A League Women’s side. Tickets available here: https://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/Show.aspx?sh=BLYWBR0124

A League Women’s Jersey Stock
Our A League Women’s jerseys have currently sold out. Consequently, they won’t be available for sale at our first home game this weekend. We have been pushing our supplier, New Balance and Belgravia Apparel to expedite our A League Women’s jersey stock and will continue to do so to meet our increased demand for this season. This has been a bottleneck for us, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure availability of our A League Women’s jersey’s.
Your passion for supporting our team is sincerely appreciated, and we aim to ensure that every supporter can wear our colours with pride, and as soon as possible. Please do ensure to make your pre-orders for our A League Women’s jerseys at: https://belgraviaapparelshop.com/collections/brisbane-roar.
NPL and Academy Teams
The finalisation process for our NPL and academy teams is currently underway. We have been extremely pleased to secure Ben Cahn as our Youth Technical Director who will lead our next generation of Brisbane Roar FC footballers, with a view of producing the best young talent and a ‘real’ pathway to professional football.
Our pathway has been highlighted by strong performances by the likes of Thomas Waddingham and Quinn MacNicol during our A League Men’s pre-season, with many more of our NPL and academy players being exposed to our first team environment.
Thank you for your continued and unwavering support of Brisbane Roar FC. We are looking forward to seeing you all back in Brisbane during this season!
