ALM R6 Match Wrap: Brisbane Roar 2-2 Western Sydney Wanderers

Brisbane Roar were forced to settle for a share of the spoils after playing out a pulsating 2-2 draw against Western Sydney Wanderers in Isuzu UTE A-League Round 6 at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Goals from Nikola Mileusnic and Jack Hingert had Roar up at the break before the visitors fought back with strikes from Nicolas Milanovic and Marcus Antonsson to steal a share of the spoils.

Mileusnic opened the scoring in the 13th minute when he got in behind the Wanderers defence on the end of a brilliant Antonee Burke-Gilroy through ball before slamming home a near post finish from a tight angle.

Mileusnicā€™s third goal of the season doubled as the Roarā€™s 700th Isuzu UTE A-League Menā€™s goal, they become the fourth club to reach the milestone.

Two minutes later Hingert marked his return to the Roar eleven with a goal, turning home a a Mileusnic cross to finish off a well worked team move.

Within a minute of the second half commencing the Wanderers pulled one back through Milanovic, who rifled an effort into the bottom corner from the top of the box.

Wanderers found a leveller in the 88th through Antonsson, who rose highest to nod home a cross from substitute, Marcus Younis.

Roar looked to have a found a winner in stoppage time through 16-year-old Rylan Brownlie only for the youngster to have his effort ruled out for offside.

Fridayā€™s match saw another teenager make his A-League debut with 18-year-old Shae Cahill, son of Socceroos legend Tim come off the bench, on the same day his father was inducted into the Australian Sports Hall of Fame.

Fridayā€™s match which was played in front of 5,977 spectators after a delayed kick off on a very wet night in Brisbane saw the Roar suffer another injury blow with Antonee Burke-Gilroy forced off just 16 minutes into the contest.

Focus now shifts to next Sundayā€™s trip to face Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium (2pm AEST KO).
