Brisbane Roar manager Ruben Zadkovich says that hard work is the key for Brisbane ahead of Sunday’s Isuzu UTE A-League round 19 clash against Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium.
Zadkovich has led the Roar to a three game unbeaten streak at Suncorp and is looking to continue this trend against Melbourne Victory as Brisbane chase a top 6 position.
Roar are currently sitting in eighth place in the table on 22 points, 5 points shy of the top six with eight rounds left to play, while Melbourne are in third on 31 points.
Brisbane’s three match unbeaten home run comes in no small part from the sides never say die attitude, with second half stoppage time strikes from Jonas Markovski and Corey Brown snatching a share of the spoils against both Wellington and Western United.
Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory share the same record from the past five games, with both teams winning one, drawing two and losing two.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s match against Melbourne Victory, Zadkovich said that hard work and ‘the never say die’ attitude is what Brisbane Roar is all about.
“Another good week of training, especially earlier this week, we’ve worked really hard and the players are really sinking their teeth into some of the improvement areas.”
“We want to tap into our DNA, what we are as a club and what’s made this club great in the past and a lot of that revolves around hard work,” Zadkovich said.
The Roar manager added that the fans are a crucial part of making Suncorp a fortress.
“To play in front of our members and fans is massive, I’ve been around the game a long time and I know how they play a part,” Zadkovich said.
“As a coach, I’m very grateful to see the support that we get in pretty tricky circumstances if I’m honest.”
“The club has been through a fair bit over the last couple of seasons, so to still see the members turning up and getting behind the team is massive for us.”
Sunday’s match at Suncorp Stadium kicks off at 4:00pm and will be broadcast live on Paramount+
