Brisbane Roar sign Lebanese International Walid Shour

Brisbane Roar are excited to confirm the signing of Lebanese international midfielder, Walid Shour on a two-year deal ahead of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season. 

The 27-year-old, who stands at 6 ft 1 operates primarily as a defensive midfielder has 27 caps for Lebanon including both of his nation’s World Cup qualifiers against Australia in March this year as well as all three group games at the 2023 Asian Cup. 

Shour, who played for Luton Town at youth level arrives in Brisbane from reigning Lebanese Premier League Champions, Al Ahed and was part of the side that faced Central Coast Mariners in the 2024 AFC Cup Final. 

“Signing for Brisbane has been one of the easiest decisions I’ve made in my career so far,” Shour said. 

“Playing for a club of this calibre has always been a dream of mine and after just one conversation with the coach and football director I felt an immediate sense of belonging. It was clear to me that this was where I wanted to be. 

“My goals for the upcoming season are to help the team compete for the league title and ideally secure some trophies for Brisbane Roar.” 

Shour joins Harry Van Der Saag, Ben Warland, Marcus Ferkranus, Hosine Bility and Ben Halloran as the club’s sixth new arrival ahead of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
