Brisbane Roar welcomes two exciting talents, Jacob Brazete and Pearson Kasawaya ahead of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s Season
The teenage duo join the club from Sydney FC, on two-year scholarship contracts with an option for an additional year.
Brazete is an 18-year-old winger, who arrives in Brisbane after starring for Sydney FC’s NPL side with his power, dribbling ability and creativity in the final third.
Brazete earns a scholarship deal following a trial period in Brisbane that included an impressive shift against the Queensland State Team.
17-year-old, Kasawaya is an athletic left footed full back who has represented Australia at U20 level and played a key role for Sydney FC in the NPL New South Wales this season.
Brazete said he was hungry to make his make his mark at A-League level in the Sunshine state.
“It’s every boys dream growing up to play professional football and I’ve been working for this since I was five years old, to sign my first contract, it’s really everything and I’m just really grateful to everyone that made it possible,” Brazete said.
“I know I’m young but I came here to win and that’s what i want to do, I’m ready to do anything and work as hard as possible to try and make that happen for Brisbane.”
Kasawaya echoed Brazete’s sentiments and said he couldn’t wait to get started in Queensland.
“I’ve been working so hard to get to this point, it means everything to my friends and family as well, it’s an amazing feeling,” Kasawaya said.
“There are great players here, a great coach and it’s a great club to get an opportunity to be a part of
“I want to get as many minutes as possible, play my best and push hard to get good results for the team.”
Brazete will wear number 18 jersey for the Roar while Kasawaya has been handed the number 14 jersey for season 2024/25.
Brazete and Kasawaya join Thomas Waddingham, Quinn MacNicol and Lucas Herrington as the clubs contracted scholarship players for the upcoming season.
Brisbane Roar kick off the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s season on the road against Auckland at Go Media Stadium on Saturday, October 19.
