A number of Brisbane Roar stars were recognised for their outstanding seasons locally at the Football Queensland Awards night at Brisbane City Hall on Saturday night.
Momo Hayashi, Tamar Levin, Emma Gibbon, Isabela Hoyos, Quinn MacNicol and Mica Robinson were amongst those to win awards at Saturday’s event.
Momo Hayashi, who made her Ninja A-League debut in Saturday’s season opener against Canberra United was crowned 2024 NPL Women’s Player of the Year following an outstanding campaign with Gold Coast United.
The Japanese defender who wins the award for the second year running scored seven goals and won 90% of her defensive duels in 2024. Laini Freier was also nominated for this award after a standout season with the double winning Brisbane City.
Tamar Levin, who also started in Saturday’s Ninja A-League opener was named as the NPL Women’s Young Player of the Year after starring for Eastern Suburbs.
The midfielder made 15 goal contributions for Easts, who finished in second place on the NPL ladder.
Tish Woods nominated for Young Player of the Year as well for her contribution from midfield at Peninsula Power.
Emma Gibbon, who was on the bench for Saturday’s action in the capital won NPL Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year after keeping 13 clean sheets for Eastern Suburbs throughout 2024.
Isabela Hoyos, who made her Ninja A-League debut off the bench on Saturday was awarded Female Junior Player of the Year following a standout NPL Queensland campaign with QAS that earned her a Roar contract.
Quinn MacNicol was crowned Male Junior Player of the Year after a 2024 that included captaining the Joeys and scoring a number of goals as the side secured qualification for the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup.
The midfielder who is the Roar’s youngest ever male player and goalscorer has made five first team appearances for the club and was in the match day squad for Friday’s Isuzu UTE A-League opener against Sydney FC.
MacNicol’s Joeys and Young Roar teammates, Charlie Parkin and Rhys Williams were also nominated for Male Junior Player of the Year.
Mica Robinson, who has been part of the club’s Ninja A-League coaching staff was awarded Development Coach of the Year for her work with the FQ Academy QAS girls program.
Andre Bennett, who coached Young Roar in 2024 was also nominated for the award for his work with Moreton City Excelsior.
