ALM R6 Match Wrap: Macarthur 4-4 Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar played out a thrilling 4-4 draw against Macarthur in Isuzu UTE A-League Round 6 action at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday night.

Thomas Waddingham scored a first half brace before Brisbane found two more in the second half through a pair of own goals against a Macarthur side who netted thanks to strikes from Kealey Adamson, Tomislav Uskok, Daniel De Silva & Valere Germain.

Waddingham opened the scoring in the fifth minute when he pounced with a powerful first time finish when Filip Kurto parried Keegan Jelacicā€™s initial effort on the end of an intricate team move.

The 19-year-old then doubled Roarā€™s lead and his tally for the night in the 29th minute when he got in behind the Bulls defence thanks to a Louis Zabala through ball and fired a one-on-one finish past Kurto.

The home side grabbed a lifeline on the stroke of half time when Adamsonā€™s deflected strike found itā€™s way into the back of the net on the end of a Bulls set piece.

Macarthur came out of the blocks firing in the second half and found an equaliser through an Uskok header in the 51st minute.

Roar regained the lead in the 67th minute via a Dino Arslanagic own goal after the defender got a toe to a Jack Hingert cross but turned the ball into his own net.

The home side again levelled the scores in the 79th minute through De Silva, who fired a powerful first time strike into the bottom corner from the top of the box after being picked out by Jed Drew.

Germain then put Macarthur ahead for the first time on the night with a header off of a Drew corner in the 83rd minute.

Roar clawed back an equaliser in the 92nd minute when Uskokā€™s challenge turned a Ben Halloran cross into the back of the net to round out the scoring in a crazy 4-4 draw at Campbelltown Stadium.

Saturday’s match also saw Scott Neville return from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and play 65 minutes in his first game in 312 days.
