Queensland X-Ray Injury Update: ALM R9 & ALW R7

Brisbane Roar has confirmed it’s squads for the weekend’s Isuzu UTE Men’s & Ninja Women’s A-League action.

Here’s this week’s Injury Update, brought to you by Queensland X-Ray.

Roar’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men are boosted by the return of Keegan Jelacic, who is named in the match day squad after missing last weekend’s clash against Western Sydney Wanderers with a shoulder complaint.

Rafael Struick is away on international duty with Indonesia at the ASEAN Championships, with the forward due to return either late this month or early January dependant upon how deep his country goes into the tournament.

Defensive duo, Scott Neville and Corey Brown will remain sidelined this week as the club continues to manage their return from respective injury concerns.

Adam Zimarino, who made his first start A-League start for the club last weekend is in line to face his former side on Saturday.

Zimarino is one of several ex-Glory players in the Roar squad alongside Scott Neville, Keegan Jelacic and Antonee Burke-Gilroy while Head Coach Ruben Zadkovich and assistant Chris Coyne were also previously at Perth.

Saturday’s Isuzu UTE A-League Round 9 clash against Perth kicks off at 4pm AEST at Suncorp Stadium.

Roar’s Ninja A-League Women will be without Mariel Hecher, who misses this Saturday’s clash in Newcastle after picking up a concussion during training this week.

Tanaye Morris, Ruby Cuthbert and Isabella Hoyos have all been named in the extended squad as potential replacements for Alex Smith’s side.

Evdokia Popadinova remains sidelined with a hamstring injury she suffered away in Wellington a fortnight ago and continues to build towards a return in the next few weeks.

Saturday’s Ninja A-League Round 7 match up with the Jets has been moved to Newcastle No.2 Sportsground and will kick off at 4pm AEST.
