A youthful Roar squad secured a 1-0 win over Peninsula Power at AJ Kelly Park on Tuesday night.
With the starting eleven that played in Sunday’s 2-0 win over the Central Coast Mariners rested due to the short turnaround, a number of younger players were given the opportunity to feature in Tuesday’s match.
The squad was comprised of many youth players from the Brisbane Roar NPL setup.
The first half ended scoreless but once the squad returned from the break, Jacob Brazete was fouled in the box and stepped up to take the penalty.
Brazete successfully slotted the penalty into the back of the net to give Roar the 1-0 lead which was ultimately enough to secure the win.
Hosine Bility impressed in defence after playing his first minutes this pre-season.
