Roar welcome USL Super League defender Josie Studer

Brisbane Roar are pleased to welcome defender Josie Studer from Carolina Ascent in the USL Super League for the upcoming Ninja A-League 25/26 season.

After five stellar seasons at Louisiana Tech University, where she notched seven goals and three assists from the backline, Studer joined Carolina Ascent on her first professional contract last year.

The 24-year-old made her first start for Carolina in October 2024 before going on to make 11 appearances and secure two assists in her time at the club.

Speaking on signing for the club, Studer said: “To say I am excited about playing for Brisbane Roar is a massive understatement. This club has unreal supporters, and I want to make them proud.”

“My intent is simple—play brilliant footy, go to the Grand Final, and bring the trophy home to Brisbane. These players, our staff, and Queensland deserve it.

“They are putting in all the work. I am so unbelievably grateful to be here and I’m ready to play ball.”

“It’s great to have Josie onboard,” Head Coach, Alex Smith said.

“She brings a strong approach to defending combined with an ability to get forward.

“She is a great addition to our back line, and I can’t wait to see her play.”
