Brisbane Roar confirm ‘B’ Team squad for upcoming 2026 NPL QLD season

Brisbane Roar are pleased to confirm the ‘B’ Team squad for the 2026 National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland season.

The ‘B’ team is positioned within the club as a key pillar in our developmental pipeline and acts as a bridge between youth and professional football. The Brisbane Roar ‘B’ Team has been built into the greater Isuzu UTE  A-League men’s program to form a larger 50 player squad, at which senior head coach Michael Valkanis will monitor closely.

The championed homegrown talent is subject to a top tier professional environment every single day across both Meakin Park and Brendale training facilities with the ability for those who excel to be called directly into the club’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s team for training and competitive matches.

Under the watchful eye of experienced youth head coach Borja Souto, the ‘B’ team is closely aligned with the first team squad and Valkanis, further extending the breadth of players preparing for top tier professional football.

It is the aim that under the leadership of Souto, Roar fans will see more local talent, such as Emmett Shaw, Lucas Herrington, Thomas Waddingham, Macklin Freke, Noah Maieroni, Quinn MacNicol, Sam Klein and James Durrington to name a few, transition into the first team and beyond.

The ‘B’ Team kicks off their 2026 Kappa Pro Series with Round 1 on Friday 23 January at Nudgee Recreation Reserve against North Star, before their regular season commences on Sunday 22 February at Meakin Park when they face Brisbane City.

A full list of the Brisbane Roar ‘B’ Team squad can be found below.
