Brisbane Roar Football Club can confirm that its upcoming A-League Men fixture against Perth Glory on Saturday, 28 February will be relocated from Suncorp Stadium to Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe, due to heavy usage of the playing surface during February.
Suncorp Stadium management recently approached the Club to discuss the potential relocation of the fixture, due to a shortened recovery following the February concert period. This has impacted the ability for the venue to return the pitch to an optimal standard for professional football.
Throughout February, Suncorp Stadium is hosting a number of major events where patrons and performers require access to the field before hosting a rugby match on the eve of the scheduled A-League Men fixture.
The cumulative impact of these events will place considerable strain on the playing surface, with a substantial amount of turf required to be re- laid in a short timeframe.
Following discussions between Brisbane Roar, Suncorp Stadium, KAYO Stadium, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), and Perth Glory, it was determined that proactively relocating the match was the most appropriate course of action.
While the venue has complete confidence that the field will be safe and playable for the Queensland Reds v Highlanders match, they understand from previous feedback that the cosmetic appearance and reduction in grass coverage resulting from extended flooring coverage can impact A-League matches more than other football codes.
Ensuring pitch quality meets A-League, player and fan standards was a key consideration in the decision.

Tickets for the relocated match at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe will go on sale on Monday, 9 February at 1:00pm AEST via official Brisbane Roar ticketing channels.
