Brisbane Roar is proud to announce that Tameka Yallop has been named as the first member of the Ninja A-League Women All Stars squad that will take on Chelsea FC Women in Sydney next month.
It is a fitting honour for the most decorated player in the competition’s history. Yallop wore the All Stars shirt in the side’s inaugural match against Arsenal in 2024 and now leads the squad reveal for its second outing, this time against a Chelsea team that includes Matildas star Ellie Carpenter. Jeff Hopkins, who coached Yallop during her championship years in Brisbane, will lead the All Stars.
Yallop’s 2025/26 season
Selection caps a season that showed exactly why Yallop remains the heartbeat of the Roar. The club captain fought her way back from injury to make 11 league appearances and score twice in 2025/26, and her goal in the semi-final first leg win over Wellington Phoenix was one of the moments of the club’s return to finals football for the first time since 2020/21.
Along the way, the 134-cap Matilda added to her club records for appearances and goals, marks she set during her award-winning 2024/25 campaign.
Speaking on Yallop’s call-up, Chief Executive Officer, Kaz Patafta said: “The club is beyond proud of Tameka and had no doubt she would be selected for this year’s Ninja A-League Women All-Stars squad.
“She’s a true professional on and off the pitch and has always been an integral part of Brisbane Roar. We’ve been honoured to have a player of her calibre at the club in recent years. We can’t wait to see her run out against Chelsea.”
