Brisbane Roar has signed midfielder Emily Roach ahead of the 2026/27 A-League Women season.
Roach came through the Queensland Academy of Sport before moving into NPL Women’s football in Victoria, representing South Melbourne and Heidelberg United. She has previously played A-League Women football with Canberra United, Newcastle Jets and Western United, and was selected to represent Victoria against her home state of Queensland in the Battle of the States. Known for her versatility, Roach can play across the midfield and has shown she is equally capable defensively and in front of goal.

Speaking on signing with the Roar, Emily Roach said, “It’s been a big dream of mine to play back at my hometown club. Being able to play in front of my family and friends and represent the club I grew up around is something really special to me. I can’t wait for the season to get started and to play in front of the fans!”
Head Coach Johnathan Clemente said Roach’s return home gave the squad a technical, homegrown boost.
“Emily is a talented technical midfielder with experience across multiple A-League stints and an all round top human. She has so much untapped potential and I’m excited to bring her home to Brisbane as a QAS product and get the best out of her.”
