With only four regular season games left, Brisbane Roar are hoping to earn three points on the road this weekend and accelerate their surge towards a fifth consecutive finals berth in the Westfield W-League.

The ladies in orange are hungry for more than a point after a 2-2 draw against Perth Glory at home last weekend.

After heading into the dressing room 2-0 down, the introduction of attacking powerhouse Tameka Butt proved to be vital in swinging the momentum for the home side in another never-say-die performance from her team at Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre,

Butt, who has battled with injury this season, made her presence felt by visitors creating numerous chances and scoring a classy 61st minute goal.

ā€œOn a personal level I am looking forward to having the same impact on the game as I did last week as well as hopefully earning myself a starting spot,ā€ she said.

ā€œThe team has prepared well and we are excited about implementing some offensive tactical changes against Western Sydney.ā€

Brisbane Roar Women were narrowly defeated 2-1 by the Wanderers in round five after a world-class goal from former Roar player Catherine Cannuli but the return of eight Westfield Matildas between the two sides will mean it is an entirely different ball game this time around.

ā€œWe need to be ready from the first minute, keep our discipline in defence and take our chances in the final third,ā€ Butt said.

ā€œCannuli will no doubt be a threat out wide as will Walsh with her speed in behind and ability to put herself in goal scoring positions.

ā€œSwedish international Fors has also proven dangerous in front of goal.ā€

The match will kick off at 3pm this Sunday at Campbelltown Stadium – a win for the Roar could boost them to top of the competition table depending on results from other matches going their way.
