Mariel Hecher struck a decisive away goal against Melbourne City for the second season running as Brisbane Roar bounced back to form with a terrific 1-0 win in the Liberty A-League on Thursday.
Hecher intelligently converted Shea Connors’ cross in the 26th minute to give the Roar a deserved lead which they bravely protected for over an hour at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex.
Goalkeeper Isabella Shuttleworth shone at the other end to help secure a clean sheet on her first professional start, with impressive performances across the board contributing to a well-earned third win of the campaign.
Brisbane will look to make it two from two this coming Monday when Canberra United return to Perry Park for a 6:05pm kick-off.

Brisbane Roar | Mariel Hecher (26′)
