Long-serving defender Jack Hingert became just the sixth player to play 150 Hyundai A-League matches for the Club in Wednesday night’s draw against the Newcastle Jets.

Hingert played a full 90 minutes on the right of the Roar back four, a position he’s made his own in recent seasons.

The pacey defender is a member of two of the Club’s Championship-winning squads, and has also donned the captain’s armband on a number of occasions throughout his eight seasons at the Roar.

He also became the first defender to reach the milestone & was proud of the fighting spirit his teammates showed to twice come from a goal behind to secure a point on the road.

“In the past few games, we’ve dropped dour heads after conceding, but we stuck together and kept fighting so I’m proud of the boys,” Hingert said post-match.

“The first half wasn’t great, but we put it behind us and said we had to move on. We showed that fighting spirit and character in the second half.”

The defender said it was also great to see Frenchman, and roommate, Eric Bautheac receive reward for effort after bagging his first goal of the season late in the second half.

“We’ve all seen what he can do in glimpses this season. He’s my roommate on away trips and I’ve been telling him he needs to score so it’s nice to see him get on the score sheet,” Hingert added.

Hingert is in line for BRFC game number 151 this Sunday when the Roar return to Suncorp Stadium to face Perth Glory (6pm KO). Get your tickets HERE.
