OāShea, one of a number of new faces in this seasons Brisbane Roar squad, says his side’s week on the Fraser Coast provides them with another opportunity gel ahead of the new season.
āI think itās really good for the team environment because obviously thereās so many new players, you get to know everyone a bit better,ā OāShea said.
āBeing away from everything in Brisbane, you start bonding and gelling with the team because theyāre the only faces that you see.
āEvery meal time youāre with them and then hanging out round the hotel, going out for team bonding activities, itās really good.ā
The midfielder added his side certainly werenāt easing up on the training pitch with the opening match of the new Hyundai A-League season just over three weeks away.
āItās quite tough obviously. They [the coaching staff] are not going to ease off on us with it getting quite close to the [Hyundai] A-League season now, so things are starting to ramp up,” O’Shea said.
āIām really excited. Obviously itās my first season out here and everybody has a lot of good things to say about it so I canāt wait for the first game,ā OāShea said.
On Saturday evening the Roar will take on a Football Wide Bay Select side at the Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct.
OāShea said his side wouldnāt be taking Saturdayās opponents lightly.
āObviously, we donāt really know much about them but weāll be preparing like any other game, trying to get as much work in as we can,ā OāShea said.
āEverything now is just leaning towards the first game of the season so we wonāt be easing off.
āWeāll be trying to move the ball quickly and implement everything that the gaffers been trying to get into us in pre-season, it wonāt be any different than any of the other games weāve played so farā
