Young Roar striker Mirza Muratovic is expecting another tough task when his side take on Melbourne City at A.J. Kelly Park on Saturday (3pm KO) for the second time this season.

The last clash between the teams was less than a month ago and ended in a tight scoreless draw in Shepparton.

Muratovic was complimentary of City’s performance on that day but saw the positives in his team’s performance in the last meeting.

“They were really good opposition last time – we had a good battle against them and both teams had chance,” Muratovic said.

“It ended nil-nil which was good because we got a clean sheet which is always a positive.”

The young striker has been firing on all cylinders this season finding the back of the net six times and assisting three goals in the opening four fixtures.

“I give a lot of credit to my team for setting me up and I’m taking my chances well,” Muratovic continued.

“I think I’m in some good form and hopefully I can continue that and carry that into the next few matches.”

Muratovic is one of a handful of Young Roar players who have earned the opportunity to train alongside the Club’s Hyundai A-League squad, with the chance proving to be immensely valuable for the 19-year-old.

“It’s a big privilege because I get to train under [Head Coach] Robbie [Fowler] and all the other experienced [number] nines here,” Muratovic added.

“They teach me a lot of things through training and it’s just a great experience so I take every chance I get.”

The young attacker has also been learning from the experienced faces who have been filling the Young Roar squad from the first team throughout the Foxtel Y-League season.

“It’s a good opportunity because there are a lot of learning moments for us with the experience that they bring into the squad,” Muratovic said.

“They manage the game well for us and it’s a lot of help having them down.”

The Young Roar will be looking to extend their five-game unbeaten run in the Foxtel Y-League at A.J. Kelly Park on Saturday.
