Brisbane Roar is deeply saddened by ongoing bushfires & drought affecting communities across Australia.
Throughout the next two rounds, Brisbane Roar will be joining the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League in partnering with Rural Aid to provide much-needed bushfire and drought assistance to farmers, firefighters, families and their communities affected.
Rural Aid is one of Australia’s largest rural charities, well known for the highly successful ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign. The charity provides fodder (hay), financial assistance, domestic water and counselling to farmers in times of drought, fire or flood. Other initiatives support its vision so that farming and rural communities are safeguarded to ensure their sustainability both during and after these natural disasters.
In support, Brisbane Roar will be providing limited-edition, signed Hyundai A-League 2019/20 black jerseys for auction, with all proceeds to be donated to Rural Aid’s bushfire and drought relief efforts.

There will also be the opportunity to donate and contribute at upcoming home games at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, 11 January and Saturday, 18 January. The Club is also encouraging the football community to show their support at ruralaid.org.au/football.
Brisbane Roar CEO David Pourre says it’s an important time for all Australians to come together and provide support during a tough time.
“Coming together and supporting one another in tough times is what Australians do. With bushfires and drought affecting so many Australians, it’s important that we as a Club do our bit to contribute and support those going through a very tough time,” Pourre said.
“On behalf of Brisbane Roar, we are pledging proceeds received through the auction of limited-edition and match worn black jerseys to supporting Rural Aid’s bushfire and drought relief.
“It’s terrific to see the generosity of so many Australians and we ask the football community to dig deep where possible and contribute to a tremendous cause.”
