Brisbane Roar has today announced the signing of Antonee Burke-Gilroy as an injury replacement for experienced defender Jack Hingert.
Hingert will undergo a recovery period after sustaining a hamstring injury which ruled him out of Sunday’s match against Melbourne City.
His replacement, Burke-Gilroy, joins the Roar from NPL Victoria side Altona Magic until the end of the A-League 2020/21 Season.
The 23-year-old full-back grew up in Newcastle and has had stints in Portugal and the United States, where he played for Tacoma Defiance while sharing a house with Roar midfielder Jesse Daley.

“We are pleased to welcome Antonee into the group at an important time of the season,” Head Coach Warren Moon said.
“He is a talented, versatile young player who I’m sure will be ready to make the step up after playing regular football in Victoria.
“While Jack’s injury is disappointing for him and us as a team, I know he is determined to return to the pitch as quickly as possible and we will be doing everything we can to support his recovery.”
Burke-Gilroy will train with his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday morning and is available for selection heading into Wednesday’s clash with Central Coast Mariners at Moreton Daily Stadium.
