Brisbane Roar hit the road for the first time this A-League Men season on Sunday afternoon, with Michael Valkanis’ side taking on Macarthur FC at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The Roar are unbeaten after two matches. They opened with a 2-1 home win over Perth Glory before Tom Aldred’s 95th-minute equaliser earned a 1-1 draw with reigning champions Auckland FC at Suncorp Stadium last Friday. The Roar had 68.8 per cent of the ball and 19 shots against Auckland, and will be looking to turn that control into goals earlier on Sunday.
Macarthur are also unbeaten under new head coach Sasa Ognenovski. They beat Perth Glory 2-1 at home in Round 1, drew 1-1 with Newcastle Jets, and played out a 0-0 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers at Campbelltown last weekend. Macarthur sit third on five points, one place and one point ahead of the Roar.
