ALM R11 Match Preview: Brisbane Roar vs Newcastle Jets

Brisbane Roar go up against Newcastle Jets in Isuzu UTE A-League Round 11 action at Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday night.

Roar come into Tuesday’s match after suffering a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Central Coast Mariners at the weekend.

Despite fashioning 20 shots on goal to the Mariners 10, Ben Halloran’s first goal since returning to Brisbane proved to be in vain as the visitors took all three points courtesy  of strikes from Harrison Steele, Arthur De Lima along with an own goal.

The Jets, who drew 2-2 with Sydney FC in their last outing sit five points ahead of the Roar in eleventh position on the A-League ladder.

Tuesday’s match up at Suncorp Stadium continues a busy week for Roar who also go up against Melbourne City at AAMI Park on Saturday.

WHAT WAS SAID

“It’s nice to have a quick turn around because obviously the result wasn’t what we wanted but the performance was really good.

I feel like the lads are ready to go and I feel like there’s a few players that are fresh that we can turn to and we’re looking for a positive performance.” – Ruben Zadkovich

“I think the last two or three games we’ve in my opinion been the better team, we just haven’t been clinical enough in front of goal and a bit sloppy with conceding goals.

But I think if we create the same performance that we’ve shown in the last few games I think that first win isn’t too far away.” – Ben Halloran
