Halloran got in behind the defence on the end of a pinpoint Jay O’Shea through ball and chipped Harrison Devenish-Mears with a first-time finish to open the scoring in the 16th minute.

Hore marked his return to the side with a goal in the 21st minute with a powerful finish on the turn to fire after being expertly played in by O’Shea who brought down a Halloran cross and picked out the winger.

The home side pulled a goal back in the 31st minute through Joel King, who put the finishing touch on a Joe Lolley cross at the back post.

Ten minutes later Zimarino reinstated Roar’s two-goal lead with his first A-League goal for the club when he turned home a Halloran cutback on the end of a well worked team move.

17-year-old defender, Herrington who made his debut in the league just last month scored his first A-League when he powered home a first time finish on the end of a Keegan Jelacic corner in the 71st minute.

It was a nervy finish to the contest as Sydney pulled a quickfire pair of goals back through Quintal and Courtney-Perkins in the closing stages but Roar hung on for their first away win over Sydney since 2018.
