Brisbane Roar welcome back Lucas Herrington while there’s a potential Isuzu UTE A-League debut on the cards for James Durrington in Saturday’s trip to face Adelaide United in Round 22 action at Coopers Stadium.
Herrington missed the sides last three A-League matches whilst on international duty with the Young Socceroos where they were crowned AFC U20 Asian Cup Champions and qualified for the FIFA U20 World Cup for the first time in 13 years.
The 17-year-old Queenslander, who signed a three-year scholarship contract with Roar ahead of the 2024/25 season has become a key player for Ruben Zadkovich’s side after making his A-League debut against Western Sydney in December.
Herrington immediately looked at home in the heart of the Roar defence, starting in all seven A-League matches he was available for since his debut and scoring his first senior goal in January’s 4-3 win over Sydney FC.
Another exciting young Queenslander, James Durrington is in line to make an A-League debut in Saturday’s match against Adelaide.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder who played his junior football for Gold Coast United is a key contributor for Young Roar, netting four goals throughout the 2024 NPL Queensland campaign before making his first team debut in Roar’s pre-season tour of India.
Livewire attacker, Nathan Amanatidis has been cleared of any injury concern after limping off in last weekend’s match against Melbourne Victory and is part of the travelling squad to face his hometown club.
Florin Berenguer has been omitted from the travelling squad for Saturday’s match for personal reasons.
Saturday’s match at Coopers Stadium kicks off at 4pm AEST and will be broadcast live on Paramount +, 10 Bold & 10 Play.
