Brisbane Roar returned to the winners circle with a 3-1 victory over Perth Glory in Isuzu UTE A-League Round 23 action at HBF Park on Saturday night.
A Sam Klein birthday brace along with Asumah Abubakar’s first A-League goal sealed all three points against a Glory side who took an early lead through Luke Amos.
Glory took the lead in the seventh minute through Amos who brought down a bouncing ball before playing a one-two with Adam Taggart and unleashing a strike into the top corner from range.
Abubakar levelled the scores in the 37th minute with what was his first A-League goal when he picked up the ball on the left and drove into the area before combining with Keegan Jelacic and poking home a finish at the near post.
Klein marked his 21st birthday with his first top flight goal in the 50th minute, firing home a left footed volley after Abubakar nodded a Jelacic corner into his path.
Things got even better for Klein in the 89th minute when he skipped past his marker and bent a strike into the top corner from the top of the box to complete his brace and round out the 3-1 win.
The A-League will pause for an international break next weekend before Roar return to action with a clash against league leaders, Auckland at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, March 30. Get your tickets HERE
