ALM R24 Matchday Guide: Brisbane Roar vs Auckland FC

Brisbane Roar host Auckland FC in Isuzu UTE A-League action for the first time at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday afternoon. 

Here’s everything you need to know before heading to Sunday’s Round 24 clash against the league leaders which is brought to you by Fork’n Easy.

All part season members need to redeem via Ticketek to attend Sunday’s game. Redemption codes have been emailed to part season members.   

A reminder that Ausenco Passes are not valid for entry into BRFC A-League Men’s matches.   

Supporters can head to box office B to sort any last minute ticketing issues on game day.   

GETTING TO THE GAME     

 If you have a pre-purchased ticket or a stadium membership card you can travel free to and from Suncorp Stadium on all regular network-wide Brisbane City Council buses and Queensland Rail City Network trains (excludes Brisbane City Council ferries, the G: and Air train services).     

Suncorp Stadium is close to Milton station (500m away via pedestrian walkway to Southern Plaza), Roma Street station and Roma Street busway station (1.14km away), and bus stops on Caxton Street, Given Terrace and Milton Road.

Please note that there are scheduled major weekend track works on the Northern Lines with timetabled railbuses replacing trains on the Airport, Caboolture, Doomben, Redcliffe Peninsula, Shorncliffe and Sunshine Coast lines.

Shuttle busses will be in operation to Suncorp Stadium from Brisbane City, Carindale Chermside, Eight Mile Plains and The Gap two hours pre match and one-hour post-match.

PLAZA ACTIVATIONS  

Get the little ones to the North Plaza to have a kick around on the Football Queensland x Roar in the Community inflatable field prior to kick off in Sunday’s match.

Mascots Roary & Rosie will also be in attendance so be sure to arrive early to get a photo on either the southern or northern plaza!  

PLAYER MILESTONES

Stick around post match for a presentation to Roar Captain, Jay O’Shea who will play his 150th A-League match for the club against Auckland on Sunday.

There will also be a post match presentation for Lucas Herrington, who was part of the Young Socceroos side that won the AFC U20 Asian Cup in China last month.

SENSORY ROOM     

Suncorp Stadium has a Quiet Sensory Room located on the Level 3 concourse inside Gate A.      

A Quiet Sensory Room is a safe space for people to go if they become overwhelmed during events.      

The Suncorp Stadium Quiet Sensory Room has:     

  • Adjustable lighting     
  • Different spaces that have curtains for privacy     
  • Sensory items     
  • Comfortable seating     
  • Communication board/cards     
  • Supportive trained staff     

DISABILITY ACCESSIBLE EVENT      

In conjunction with Autism Spectrum Australia, the sunflower program has also been introduced at Suncorp Stadium.

The sunflower is a globally recognised symbol for non-visible disabilities, also known as hidden disabilities or invisible disabilities. Patrons may choose to wear a lanyard throughout an event to discreetly identify to venue staff that they may need extra help, time or guidance.     
     
If you need additional assistance, please approach one of the staff who has a Sunflower lanyard or pin. If you don’t have a Sunflower lanyard, a free lanyard can be collected from staff at the information stands and corporate entrances.
