Brisbane Roar suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Melbourne City away at AAMI Park on Friday night.
Asumah Abubakar opened the scoring in Melbourne after Keegan Jelacic fed a ball through for him to charge towards goal and put it past the keeper in the 9th minute.
Roar did well to hold the hosts out for the remainder of the first half, but they fought back in the 57th minute with Marco Tilio finding the back of the net to equalise.
Moments later, City’s Max Caputo gave his side the lead after pouncing on a free ball in the box.
In the 69th minute, Jacob Brazete pressed into the box before finding a free Keegan Jelacic to strike the top right corner with a deflection off Melbourne defence to make it 2-2.
It came down to an 85th minute set piece header goal from Germán Ferreyra to snatch the three points in a five-goal thriller.
Next, Brisbane Roar face Western United on Thursday night at Suncorp Stadium before the Easter weekend!
