ALM Unite Round Preview: Brisbane Roar vs Adelaide United

Brisbane Roar go head-to-head with Adelaide United at Allianz Stadium in Isuzu UTE A-League Unite Round action on Saturday afternoon.

League action resumes this weekend after pausing for the November international break which saw five Roar players called up their national teams.

Rafael Struick (Indonesia), Walid Shour (Lebanon), Jack Hingert (Sri Lanka), Marcus Ferkranus (Australia U23) & Lucas Herrington (Australia U20) were all on national team duty over the past fortnight.

Ruben Zadkovich’s side, who suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of league leaders Melbourne Victory in their last outing look to pick up their first win of the new campaign on Saturday afternoon.

Adelaide United currently sit fifth on the A-League ladder and picked up a 2-1 win over Western United in their most recent match.

Former United trio Ben Warland, Harry Van Der Saag and Ben Halloran will be out to stop their former club on Saturday after making the off season switch from Adelaide to Brisbane.

Saturday’s match which kicks off at 4pm AEST will be broadcast live on Paramount+, 10 Play & 10 Bold.

Jacob Brazete is in the mix to make his Isuzu UTE A-League debut after being named in the extended squad for Saturday’s Unite Round clash against Adelaide United at Allianz Stadium.

The 18-year-old winger, arrived in Brisbane ahead of the new campaign after starring for Sydney FC’s NPL side with his power, dribbling ability and creativity in the final third.

Rafael Struick, Walid Shour and Jack Hingert are all in contention for minutes after being away on international duty over the past fortnight.

On the injury front Ruben Zadkovich confirmed in his pre match press conference that Neicer Acosta is still two or three weeks away from a return to action from a leg injury that’s kept him sidelined since the beginning of the month.

The Reds have made one change to the squad that defeated Western United before the international break, with Josh Cavallo coming in for Ryan White who is away on international duty.

Henry Hore bagged a brace for the Roar while Thomas Waddingham was also on target against a Reds side who found the back of through Harry Van Der Saag who has since joined Roar, Hiroshi Ibusuki and Stefan Mauk.
