Aloisi: We want to keep improving every single day

Brisbane Roar Head Coach, Ross Aloisi says there’s plenty more to come from his side following Sunday’s 2-1 away win over defending Isuzu UTE A-League Champions, Central Coast Mariners at Industree Group Stadium.

Goals from Florin Berenguer and Thomas Waddingham sealed Roar’s second win of the new campaign, in a result that sees Aloisi’s side head into the international break inside the top six and just a point adrift of league leaders, Western Sydney Wanderers.

Roar will return from the international break with a pair of home matches at Suncorp Stadium against Perth Glory on Sunday, November 26 before taking on the Wanderers on Friday, December 1.

Aloisi, who’s strong start the new A-League season follows on from an impressive run to the Australia Cup Final said he was pleased with how his side were progressing at this stage of his first campaign in charge.

“I just really focus on what we’re doing and improving this team to play the best football we can play,” Aloisi said.

“There’s areas that we still need to improve on but you know the effort from the players was outstanding today, it was very humid out there and that makes me really proud.

“I still know that we can play much better football than what we did today and make better decisions at certain times, but very, very proud.

“Every time you win, it’s always good for the confidence within the playing group, so it’s great.

“We’ve got a weekend off and then we’ll work very hard for that home game and we hope that we get a big crowd at Suncorp Stadium.

“There’s plenty to work on, we want to keep on improving every single day and hopefully those players that haven’t been playing get some game time.

“They’ll probably work a little bit harder this week, we’ll have to assess that and the others that have been playing regularly will probably have some downtime as well.

“It’s great to get a win before we go into the Perth Glory game at home.”
