Brisbane Roar will make a trip to the West to take on Perth Glory this Sunday evening at Sam Kerr Football Centre for Round 13 of the Ninja A-League.
Roar will be determined to return to winning ways after two consecutive losses to Melbourne City and Adelaide United.
Tenth-placed Perth Glory will be desperate for a win at home as they have not secured three points since Round 6.
WHAT WAS SAID
After signing for Bundesliga giant VfL Wolfsburg earlier this week, Sharn Freier shared that she has her sights set on fighting for the trophy with Brisbane Roar first.
“The season we’ve had so far and this team we’ve got at the club at the moment is very special,” Freier said.
“I think it could be something and hopefully it could go all the way and I want to be part of that so I’m really grateful I get to stay and make the move after.”
LAST TIME WE MET
Brisbane Roar last faced Perth Glory at Perry Park in Round 3 of the Ninja A-League that resulted in a 3-0 victory to Roar.
Tameka Yallop opened the scoring in the ninth minute after Momo Hayashi sent a long ball through to the captain for her to beat Perth defence and fire a stunning shot to the top right corner.
In the 15th minute, Tamar Levin scored an unbelievable long-range goal that flew over Perth goalkeeper Miranda Templeman and into goal to extend Roar’s lead 2-0.
Templeman found herself in the action again after she fouled Sharn Freier to give a penalty away to Roar that Yallop converted to secure three points at home.
