ALW RD11 MATCH WRAP: BRISBANE ROAR 2-1 WELLINGTON PHOENIX

Brisbane Roar have broken an eight-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over in-form Wellington Phoenix at Perry Park on Sunday evening.

Wellington were first to appear on the scoreboard, with a goal from Isabel Cox off a corner set piece in the 20thminute.

With 10 minutes to go in the first half, Matildas star Tameka Yallop capitalised on an open goal with a stunning strike to equalise.

Roar returned from the break in style, scoring in just the first minute after an outstanding run by Sharn Freier found Kijah Stephenson in the box.

Brisbane have earned a big three points against a quality side in Wellington and will look to continue this momentum in their clash against Newcastle Jets in Unite Round next weekend.
