Brisbane Roar kicked off their return to Perry Park with a 1-0 victory over reigning champions Sydney FC in Round 2 of the 2024/25 Ninja A-League season.
After a solid performance in the first half from a tight-knit defence, Chelsea Blissett was the one to open the scoring in the 48th minute after a free kick from captain Tameka Yallop was served into the box.
After a scoreless second half, Brisbane Roar secured their first win of the season in front of home support.
Young gun Isabela Hoyos received more valuable match minutes after making her debut for Roar last Saturday in Canberra at just 16-years-old.
Roar remain in Brisbane for next Friday’s clash against Perth Glory where they will look to continue this winning form against the visitors.
