Brisbane Roar’s Liberty A-League side will return to Brisbane without points after a 2-1 defeat by Wellington Phoenix yesterday at Sky Stadium.
An early goal in the 6th minute opened the scoring for the Phoenix when Mariana Speckmaier tucked away a header to the bottom right corner.
Wellington’s Annalie Longo struck from range to net their second goal of the night.
Roar fought right through to the end, with striker Mia Corbin scoring her first Liberty A-League goal with a right-foot rocket to make it 2-1 at Sky Stadium.
Up next, Brisbane travel down to Gosford next Sunday November 12 to take on the newly introduced Central Coast Mariners Liberty A-League side.
