Football Australia has confirmed the match schedule for the Australia Cup 2023 Round of 16, featuring several intriguing clashes across four Match Days, as Isuzu UTE A-League Men and National Premier League (NPL) sides battle it out for a place in the competition’s Quarter Finals.
All eight Round of 16 fixtures will be played between 26 and 30 August following the successful completion of the Round of 32 on rest days during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023TM.
Sydney United 58 FC (NSW) will host Brisbane Roar FC to kick off the Round of 16 on 26 August, following their recent victories over Broadmeadow Magic FC (NNSW) and Newcastle Jets respectively. It will be followed by an all Isuzu UTE A-League affair at Jack Edwards Reserve, Oakleigh on 27 August as Melbourne City FC take on the Wellington Phoenix.
Match Day 3 will see fixtures across three states on 29 August, with Melbourne Knights FC (VIC) and Campbelltown City SC (SA) going head-to-head at Sunshine North, Victoria in an all-NPL fixture. MetroStars (SA) will be looking to continue their Cup run against Inter Lions FC from NSW League One, with both teams coming off strong performances in the Round of 32. While after a blistering start to the Final Rounds, the Western Sydney Wanderers FC will play out of Marconi Stadium, Bossley Park as they face their Isuzu UTE A-League compatriots, Adelaide United.
A Sydney derby headlines Match Day 4, with APIA Leichhardt FC (NSW) taking on Sydney FC at Leichhardt Oval, while the Gold Coast Knights FC (QLD) will also be searching for a cupset over the travelling Western United FC at the Croatian Sports Centre, Carrara. In the other fixture, Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC will host Australia Cup stalwarts, Heidelberg United FC at a venue to be confirmed.
The draw for the Australia 2023 Round of 16 will take place LIVE on 10 Play following their coverage of the APIA Leichhardt FC v Sydney FC clash on Wednesday 30 August, where the Quarter Finals scheduled for 13, 16 and 17 September will be revealed.
