Back to class for Mundy

Brisbane Roar defender Matt Mundy returned to his old school yard as the club continued to engage the local football family at the grass-roots level.

Brisbane Roar defender Matt Mundy returned to his old school yard as the club continued to engage the local football family at the grass-roots level.

A former Runcorn Heights State School student, Mundy was welcomed back as a special guest at the school-s 35th Anniversary and Harmony Day celebrations.

Joined by fan-favourite mascot Roary, the 23-year-old chatted with fans, signed autographs and posed for photos from the club-s marquee.

Mundy even took time out to recall memories from his time spent at Runcorn Heights before helping Roar staff sign current students to the club-s exciting Junior Orange Army Brigade.

Not content with making friends at just one school, Roary was back in action at the St Augustine-s College-s biennial fete a day later.

Walking amongst the fete-s stalls and amusement rides, Roary handed out posters and posed for photographs with his adoring fans.

And it was a triple Roary treat as he joined Brazilian duo Henrique and Reinaldo at the Regents Park Soccer Club-s 25th Anniversary celebrations.

Enjoying the party atmosphere, the players signed autographs and posed for photos while Roary kept the crowd entertained with his loveable antics.
