Brisbane Roar FC is delighted to announce Ben Cahn as the club’s newly appointed Youth Technical Director.
Cahn arrives at the club after having previously worked at Melbourne Knights in the NPL Victoria, Olympic FC in the NPL QLD, and Central Coast Mariners. Cahn is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most exciting coaches after successful periods in both Queensland and Victoria.
In 2020, Cahn was awarded NPL Queensland Coach of the Year and led the Queensland State Team against New South Wales and Brisbane Roar. In 2023, Cahn received NPL Victoria’s Coach of the Year after leading the Melbourne Knights to a fourth-place finish. Cahn also led Knights to an NPL Victoria Semi-Final, Dockerty Cup Semi-Final, and Australia Cup Semi-Final.
Cahn completed his AFC Pro License in Korea to become the youngest coach in Australia to hold accreditation at the time. Prior to his time in Queensland, Cahn worked for the Central Coast Mariners as an A-League Assistant Coach and Head Coach of the club’s Youth Team.
Cahn has a prolific history and strong reputation for developing young talent, overseeing the development of players such as Gianni Stensness, Lachie Wales, Josh Nisbet and Trent Buhagiar. Jez Lofthouse and Keegan Jelacic both earned A-League contracts after starring for Cahn at Olympic FC.
“Under Ben’s leadership, we plan to rebuild and further strengthen our youth program, ensuring that Brisbane Roar continues to be at the forefront of developing top footballing talent in Australia,” said Brisbane Roar COO Zac Anderson.
“Ben’s experience, relationships in Queensland and track record speaks for itself.
