The clashes will be the Roar’s second & third meetings against Hyundai A-League opposition in less than week, following the FFA Cup Round of 16 clash against the Mariners on Wednesday, 28 August at Dolphin Stadium.
Brisbane Roar CEO David Pourre says the inaugural Surf City Cup is also a terrific opportunity for the Gold Coast football community.
āThe Surf City Cup will be a great opportunity for the Gold Coast football community to see Queenslandās only Hyundai A-League team in action against high-quality opposition,ā Pourre commented.
āOur players will be involved at events surrounding the series, giving the Gold Coast community the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of our Australian & international stars.ā
The Roar has recently returned from a week-long pre-season camp to Gladstone and will journey to the Fraser Coast region as well in the lead-up to the opening of the 2019/20 season, continuing its commitment to affording as many Queenslanders the opportunity to see top-level football.
āWeāre committed to bringing the Brisbane Roar to all parts of Queensland,ā Pourre continued.
āAs the representative for all of Queensland, weāre thrilled to be able to bring professional football to areas across the State.ā
