Brisbane Roar players Jean-Carlo Solorzano and Ivan Franjic recently took time out from their busy training schedules to visit Mooroondu Football Club-s annual Challenge Cup.

Taking place on Sunday 29 August, the round robin carnival was an enjoyable way for the 70 teams present to celebrate the end of another successful football season.

Brisbane-s newest player Solorzano and defender Franjic presented medals to over 650 players from 24 different clubs, some travelling from as far as Gympie and Kingaroy to take part.

Over 1000 people came down to Mooroondu FC to enjoy the festivities, including the Mayor of Redlands Melva Hobson, with the club also organising rides, snow cones and a barbeque for players and parents to enjoy.

The Brisbane Roar boys are on the road again this week playing Melbourne Victory, so come down to Pig ‘N- Whistle Riverside to watch the game on the big screen.

There will be organised activities and prizes on offer from 2.30pm, as well as a player appearance from defender Ivan Franjic, with the week six clash kicking off at 3pm.
