Brisbane Roar Academy Product Henry Blackledge makes Premier League Leap to Luton Town

In an exciting development for Australian football, Brisbane Roar Football Club is delighted to announce that academy talent and goalkeeper Henry Blackledge, has officially joined the ranks of English Premier League side, Luton Town.

At just 18 years of age, the Queensland native has made a significant leap in his football career, transitioning from Brisbane Roar’s NPL program to Kenilworth Road. Following recent trials with Luton Town and Brentford, Blackledge has been signed on to Luton’s development squad.

Blackledge, born in Ipswich (Queensland), has been on a meteoric rise since his senior debut at just 15 with Western Pride FC. His journey through the ranks of Olympic FC and eventually Brisbane Roar, where he inked a deal in September 2023 is a testament to his unwavering dedication and talent.

Luton Town’s Head of Goalkeeping, Kevin Pilkington, expressed his admiration for the young talent, stating, “Henry impressed us for the week-and-a-half he was with us. He’s technically very good and he’s showed ambition by leaving his family behind in Australia to join us.”
