Brisbane Roar have added experience and another Queenslander to their Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s coaching staff with Chris Coyne coming on board to assist Interim Head Coach, Ruben Zadkovich.
Coyne has signed on as the club’s ALM Assistant Coach until the end of the current season and will work alongside Zadkovich.
The 45-year-old former Socceroo, who was born in Brisbane also served as Zadkovich’s Assistant at Perth Glory last season.
Coyne has spent time as Perth Glory’s Youth Team Head Coach and lead Bayswater City in the NPL WA for a number of seasons.
Coyne’s playing career that took him to England, Scotland, China and Australia saw him amass +350 professional games at the likes of Luton Town, Brentford and West Ham United.
“I’m excited to come back to Brisbane after speaking with Ruben & Club Management, being born in this amazing city and with the steps Roar are looking to build on it was an exciting proposition to come and work for a great club with a great group of players and staff,” Coyne said.
“The goal is always to win, but working alongside current staff and Ruben we want to develop the way we play and be a team that Roar fans can be proud of.”
The new Roar Assistant Coach has already started work on the training ground and will be on the sideline for Saturday evenings Isuzu UTE A-League Round 16 clash against Melbourne City at Suncorp Stadium.
