Brisbane Roar is proud to announce it has become the first Hyundai A-League Club to partner with Soccer Genius Australia.
Soccer Genius provides footballers and coaches with individual benchmarks and comparative measurements of key football attributes, aimed to assist development and improvement.
Soccer Genius encompasses five football-specific drills, designed to test participants’ qualities in areas including dribbling, pace and agility, ball distribution and shooting.
The technology will be utilised by the Club’s Roar Active Program at football clubs, schools, academies and more throughout Queensland.
“Soccer Genius is five drills that are measured for speed and accuracy using light gates and radar technology,” Soccer Genius Director Jason Buchanan said.
“The five drills are dribbling, game-action running, passing and receiving, shooting accuracy and shot velocity.
“Soccer Genius is is aimed at players of all abilities. It aims to give kids and elite players alike 1 hour of high intensity, and most importantly, fun.
“The Soccer Genius results cannot be argued, in fact the best players receive the best results. We’ve had professional players complete the drills and they sit at the top of the scoreboard.
“Soccer Genius is not just about providing higher benchmarks for the elite side of the game. Our aim is to nurture grassroots player’s through enjoyment of the game itself, keeping kids in the game for longer. That includes kids that participate in the Roar Active Program.
“We seek firstly to facilitate enjoyment in kids, before providing an environment for them to see where they can improve, whilst being competitive. That’s our mission.
Recently, all members of the Brisbane Roar Academy have been measured by Soccer Genius.
“It was great to see the individual results that came from the Soccer Genius measurements for all our players,” Brisbane Roar Academy General Manager Warren Moon said.
“These results will allow us to fine-tune our program and elements of the curriculum, as well as track the progress for individual Academy members.”
