Brisbane Roar Captain and Westfield Matilda, Clare Polkinghorne has today been handed a summons to serve a gaol sentence pending payment of bail.
But fans of the Brisbane Roar captain need not worry, with Polkinghorne serving her gaol term all for a good cause as part of the Police-Citizens Youth Club-s (PCYC) initiative ‘Time 4 Kids – doing time to stop youth crime-.
As part of her punishment, Clare will be locked up in a PCYC gaol on Friday, 13th April in the Queen Street Mall until a minimum bail amount of $750 is reached.
Proceeds from the bail money will go towards helping PCYC, an organisation that works with the local community to support young people at-risk.
The organisation-s developmental programs for youth at-risk has assisted in keeping many young people out of jail and given them a more positive life direction to follow.
