Brisbane Roar appoints Dale Hill as Liberty A-League Goalkeeper Coach

Brisbane Roar is pleased to announce the appointment of Dale Hill as the new Goalkeeper Coach for the club’s Liberty A-League team.

Hill brings 15 years of coaching experience to the role, having mentored fellow goalkeepers since linking up with John Gorza’s Goalkeeping Australia Academy as a teenager.

The former Queensland State League and National Premier Leagues player has worked closely with the likes of Matildas star Teagan Micah and has headed up Brisbane City’s goalkeeping program over the past two years, educating and developing players from juniors through to seniors.

“It’s really exciting and a privilege to be identified as someone who can work at this level,” Hill said.

“It’s an amazing opportunity. It’s a top facility here and a great group to work with. The keepers have been really receptive, while the squad and fellow staff have been really welcoming.

“It’s been great to come in and get started.”

Hill has already started work with the Roar’s contracted trio Mia Bailey, Isabella Shuttleworth and Georgina Worth, and train-on player Chantelle Symes.

“I’m getting to know them,” he said. “I’ve obviously been aware of them working in that NPLW space and across the state for a few years now.

“You naturally keep tabs on the top keepers in the state and they’re the standouts.”

Hill joins the group as a successor to Brody Sams, who has accepted an opportunity with NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League in the United States.

Brisbane Roar extends its thanks to Matt Smith and Brisbane City FC for enabling Dale to take up this opportunity.
