Brisbane Roar finish season with a draw against Sunshine Coast Wanderers

Brisbane Roar finished off their season with a 2-2 draw against Sunshine Coast Wanderers on Saturday evening at Ballinger Park.

Sunshine Coast Wanderers found the back of the net quickly with a turn-and-shot to the right of goal by Daniel Cuttler in the first minute of play.

Wanderers found another goal just before the break with Christopher Morseray scoring from just inside the box to establish a strong 2-0 lead.

The Roar responded in added time of the first half after a through ball by Eddie Ince found Fernando Nash for a calm dispatch of the ball to the left of goal.

Roar came back firing in the second half, determined to pull off a comeback to achieve a positive result.

Brisbane was able to find the equaliser in the 58th minute, with Nathan Geyer scoring a delightful header after a free kick by Isiah Quinn saw the final score 2-2.

A special mention goes out to Declan Warnes who made a starting debut at 16-years-old along with Sean O’Connor and Andrew McLeod making their NPL debut.

The efforts each week by the squad were admirable, and they will be pleased to finish their season on a high note with the sharing of points.
