Brisbane Roar grant Harry Van Der Saag mutual release on compassionate grounds

Brisbane Roar wishes to confirm that the club has granted Harry Van Der Saag a mutual release from his contract on compassionate grounds. 

The defender, who played eleven times for Brisbane Roar after arriving at the club in July last year is taking a break from professional football and will return to New South Wales in order to be closer to his family. 

“I’d like to firstly thank Brisbane Roar FC for providing me an opportunity to develop & progress my career. 

“I’ve enjoyed my time but need to step away from professional football for personal reasons. 

“I want and need to be closer to my family in NSW, this decision has been difficult and was not made easily. 

“I’d like to thank the club for granting me a release and wish everybody at BRFC the best of luck for the future.”
