Brisbane Roar are delighted to extend Young Matildas defender Isabela Hoyos on a new three-year deal which will see Hoyos at the club until the end of the 2027/28 Ninja A-League season.
Hoyos has represented Australia with the Junior Matilda’s, most recently playing in the 2024 U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Indonesia, alongside fellow Roar teammates Ruby Cuthbert and Grace Kuilamu.
The Queensland defender was then selected in the 26-player CommBank Young Matildas squad that competed and won the PacificAus Sports Four Nations Tournament in February but was unable to participate due to a recent leg injury.
The talented 16-year-old came through the Football Queensland QAS program before joining Roar on a scholarship contract ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Hoyos made her debut in Round 1 against Canberra United and has since played a total of seven games this season including four starts thus far.
Hoyos looks forward to continuing her development at Brisbane Roar for the foreseeable future.
“I’m very grateful to be extending my time with Roar,” Hoyos said.
“I’m very fortunate to be playing in front of my family and friends at home.”
“This season has really helped me find my place in the team and has really helped me grow my game.”
“I’m also very grateful for the staff, teammates, and the club for the opportunities. I hope to keep contributing positively to the team.”
