Brisbane Roar legend Jack Hingert to depart after incredible 14-year stint 

Brisbane Roar wish to confirm that following an incredible 14 years in orange, club legend and record appearance holder, Jack Hingert will not return to the club for the 25/26 Isuzu UTE A-League Men season. 

Hingert leaves as Brisbane Roar’s record appearance holder with 309 games in all competitions, winning two A-League Men Championships with the club in that time. 

The defender became just the 13th player to reach 300 A-League Men games in the closing stages of the 24/25 campaign. 

Brisbane Roar will make a presentation to Jack and give supporters the opportunity to thank him for his significant contribution to the football club in person at a home game in the 25/26 A-League Men season. 

The dynamic fullback was brought to the club from North Queensland Fury by Ange Postecoglou arrived following Roar’s first league title, then contributed to Brisbane going back-to-back in 2012, before adding another Championship to his name in 2014. 

During his time at the Roar, Hingert earned a call up to the Sri Lankan National team, making his debut in 2024 and going on to make six appearances including one goal in international football thus far. 

“Brisbane is my home, it’s been a huge, huge part of my life and my family’s life – I started my family here, I met my wife here,” Hingert said. 

“I’ve lived in Brisbane now for longer than I’ve lived in Melbourne, I definitely feel like I’m a Brisbane boy and I always will be. 

“Brisbane Roar is always going to be my club, regardless of my next opportunity and I’m always going to be a part of Brisbane Roar. 

“It’s been with a lot of pride and I’ve been grateful to be able to represent Brisbane and Queensland as a state, it’s not something I’ve taken lightly.  

“Every time I stepped on the pitch I’ve always tried to do them proud and represent them to the best of my ability. 

“To every coach, teammate, staff member, and especially to every fan who’s supported me through the highs and lows — thank you. Thank you for believing in me, for showing up, and for making Brisbane feel like home.”
