Brisbane Roar ready for Redlands United clash in NPL QLD

Brisbane Roar’s NPL side take on Redlands United at Cleveland Showgrounds on Sunday as they continue their push for a strong end to the season.

Roar are placed ninth on the ladder with Redlands sitting tenth, making for an even match-up that will see Brisbane determined for points.

The last time these teams met was in May, when the Roar took away all three points in a 1-0 victory at A.J. Kelly Park. They will look to replicate this result on Sunday to return to winning ways with two games remaining.

Head Coach Owen Baker has instructed his team to bounce back from last week’s loss against Moreton Bay United to focus on scoring first, as he continues to give younger players game time.

“I’ve asked the lads to dust themselves off very quickly, enjoy getting back on the training park and preparing well for Redlands this weekend. We want to try and improve our record of being the first team to score, younger players gain a lot of confidence from this, and having something to hold onto is obviously a position we want to get into in games more often,” Baker said.

“In the last few weeks, we have been able to give extended game time to a lot of young boys in our squad which has offered invaluable experiences and learning for us all,” he added.
